Brass Kal Bhairav Statue No.318

This finely crafted statue depicts the fearsome deity Kal Bhairav, a manifestation of Shiva associated with annihilation. In Hinduism he is known as the one who is beyond fear. In terms of iconography, Kal Bhairav can be shown in a variety of ways with differing aspects and symbolism however, a very common feature is his crown of five skulls. Here he is shown in a six-armed form holding various ritual objects, surrounded by flames. Approx. 5" height × 3. 5" width
