Jaguar Clay Figure
About this product
The jaguar has been Mexico's most enduring symbolic animal and it appears in the artwork and culture of all the ancient Mexican civilizations. This pottery figure is based upon a jaguar shaped throne found in the Maya 'Temple of the Jaguars' in the Yucatan. Made in the traditional 'barro' pottery style in a small family workshop in Texcoco, the jaguar has a hole in its back in order to be used as a planter or candle holder.
