About this product
Impressive large scale mask carvings of the popular Hindu god Ganesh, created by a very talented team of artisans in Newari, Nepal. Beautifully painted these would certainly make a feature piece and take pride of place. Ganesh is a very popular Hindu god, and is known as the 'remover of obstacle', deva of intellect and wisdom and as the patron of the Arts and Sciences. He is easily identified by his elephant head. A figure with the trunk of the left side is believed to represent Ida Nadi which is 'lunar energy', more feminine and nourishing, and therefore ideal for having in the home.
